I carefully hand fabricated each element of this one of a kind necklace by sawing, filing, carving and texturing the sterling silver, to create the setting and backdrop for the beautiful Fossil Coral with its flower-like bursts and a beautiful Sunstone with vibrant color and schiller. I added a sweet hand sawn cut out to the backside of the pendant and added a patina to the silver to bring out the details.
Fossil Coral is a natural stone that is formed when ancient coral, once a living organic matter, does not decompose, and silica gradually leaches in to replace the matter, finally becoming a stone. It typically appears as beautiful flower like formations in the stone.
Pendant measures approximately 2 1/2" long by 1" wide at its widest point and hangs from a 24" oxidized sterling silver chain. The chain can be clasped at any point along the length for versatility in length.
