StoneBlossoms Jewelry and Social Conscience

A beautiful lady came to visit my booth at my most recent show 4th of July weekend.

My signature StoneBlossoms necklace with a Labradorite gemstone caught her eye and spoke to her. She tried it on. She fell in love. Head over heels. Wanted it. But, she wondered aloud, "do I really deserve it"?

Of course she does! My friend, who was also visiting my booth at the time, and I assured her of this.  It didn't take much convincing.  But, we got to talking with her and learned that what she meant was this: with so much pain and need in the world and so many people in unfortunate and horrible circumstances, should we feel guilty indulging a bit of beauty for ourselves?

I've been thinking about her as I hammer, saw, and file my way to building up stock for my next show. And, I feel grateful that this is the type of person that I attract with my handmade, intentional pieces.

So, I figured out a way to say thank you to you guys, and a way to give back at the same time. I am giving a little bit back to The Truth 365.  The Truth 365 is an organization raising funds for Childhood Cancer Research. 100% of the funds donated goes directly to cancer research. Forty-eight years ago, I lost my baby brother to Rhabdomyosarcoma, a very aggressive childhood cancer, so this organization is very near to my heart. You can read about how they use their funds here: https://www.thetruth365.org/about/grant-recipients/  and more about the organization in general here:  https://www.thetruth365.org/

My donation is small, but it's as much as I can afford right now...the struggling artist thing is real you guys!  But, I'll donate a portion of my sales as a donation to an organization after each of my shows. So, hopefully you can feel good about the fact that your purchase is helping. And, hopefully as my business grows I can increase the amount of my donation. So, we're working on this together!
