This necklace is part of my Alpine Collection, a salute to our beautiful natural world, inspired by my life in the Eastern Sierra.

A sweet design with a textured peak, a pine tree, and a meandering stream below a crescent moon and Montana Sapphire.  All in pure Sterling Silver. 

I hand fabricated this piece in Sterling Silver with a 3mm Montana Sapphire.

Sapphire is the birthstone for the month of September.

Montana Sapphire, a sapphire that is found in the state of Montana is a beautiful cornflower blue.  
Sapphire is said to be the wisdom stone, stimulating concentration, enhancing creativity and promoting purity and depth of thought. It is believed to focus and calm the mind as well as remove unwanted thoughts, depression and mental tension. It is known as the stone of new love and commitment and is claimed to be useful in encouraging faithfulness and loyalty. Sapphire is thought to bring peace of mind, serenity and prosperity.

Pendant measures approximately 7/8" long x 1/2" wide, and hangs on an 18" sterling silver chain. 

I used traditional metalsmithing techniques to hand saw each element, then layer and solder onto the sterling silver small heart shaped pendant.

Each piece individually hand sawn, textured, layered and soldered, so that no two are exactly alike.
